Bugatti Mistral without a roof sets a world speed record
Bugatti has set a new top speed record for open-top production cars. On the Papenburg test track, the exclusive Mistral roadster reached an impressive 453,91 kilometers per hour. It is noteworthy that the record run was performed on a car that already had an owner who paid 14 million euros for it, auto.ru reports. This is not the first such achievement for Bugatti. In 2013, their Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse model set a record of 408,8 km/h. Later, the leadership passed to Hennessey, whose Venom GT Spyder showed a result of 427 km/h. Now the French manufacturer has regained the title of the creator of the fastest open hypercar. The record achievement was recorded by experts from the prestigious German organization SGS-TÜV. It is worth noting that traditionally, for the official recognition of a record, two runs in opposite directions are required, followed by calculating the average. However, in this case, the company presented the results of only one Mistral run.
