Korean developers have created smart tires for autonomous transport

An innovative solution for improving the safety and efficiency of driverless cars was presented by the Korean startup BANF. The company has developed an intelligent tire monitoring system based on artificial intelligence technologies, “Rambler” reports. The new technology includes a set of sensors that continuously monitor key tire parameters: pressure, temperature, tread wear, and the condition of the fasteners. The collected data is processed by a special minicomputer installed in the wheel arch, after which it is transmitted to the vehicle operator. The development is particularly relevant for unmanned trucks, which are subject to increased loads due to constant operation. According to BANF spokesman Ron Lee, the company has already established cooperation with leading automakers and logistics companies, including Volvo Group, Hyundai Motor Group and DHL. Currently, 123 trucks have been equipped with smart tires. .
