AVTOVAZ's robotic complex will ensure the production of Lada Iskra

A modern welding shop designed for the production of Lada Iskra bodies has been put into operation at AVTOVAZ. The capacity of the new line is up to 30 bodies per hour, writes drom.ru. The production complex occupies 40 thousand square meters and includes 112 industrial robots, united in 17 automatic lines. These robots perform more than 4800 welding operations, as well as tasks on flanging and moving parts due to different load capacities (125-350 kg). The workshop employs 700 workers and engineers. The level of automation in the production of Lada Iskra is 37%, which, according to the management, is economically feasible with an annual plan of 120 thousand cars. For comparison, the higher level of automation (85%) in the production of Lada Granta is due to the larger planned volume (up to 220 thousand units per year). The start of serial production of Lada Iskra is expected on April 19.
