The collection of cars of the former head of Formula 1 will be put up for auction

Bernie Ecclestone, the long-time head of Formula 1, is preparing to put up for sale a unique collection of racing cars that he has been collecting for half a century. The auction house Tom Hartley Jnr describes this collection as the most valuable thematic collection in the world, including 69 rare racing cars, auto.ru reports. The collection is an encyclopedia of 70 years of Formula 1 history, featuring cars from legendary drivers, from pioneers Stirling Moss and Mike Hawthorn to iconic champions such as Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna and Niki Lauda. Among the exhibits put up for auction are real rarities of world motorsport. Of particular interest is the first Ferrari 312 F1, which won many triumphant victories, and the unique Brabham BT46B from the late 1970s with an unprecedented fan on the rear – the only such car in the history of racing. In addition, a number of cars will be presented to the public for the first time since their acquisition by Ecclestone. Experts suggest that the total value of the collection could reach tens of millions of dollars. At the same time, Bernie himself has not yet revealed the reasons that prompted him to part with such a dear collection.
