The 26-kilometer section of the Alyat-Astara-Iran highway has been reconstructed

The State Agency of Automobile Roads of Azerbaijan has completed major repairs on the 217-243 kilometer stretch of the Alyat–Astara–state border with the Islamic Republic of Iran highway. As Trend was informed by the agency, this 26-kilometer section has been upgraded in accordance with the 3rd technical category. The road width has been increased to 12 meters. Throughout the road, earthworks, drilling, road widening to achieve the standard width, foundation construction, and laying of new asphalt concrete pavement were carried out in accordance with the technological sequence. The construction of drainage pipes and ditches has been completed. As part of the project, major repairs were made to the existing bridges over the Pensarchay, Archivanchay, and Astarachay rivers. The construction work was carried out in compliance with the "Building Codes and Regulations," according to the scheduled plan and with high quality. In the final phase of the project, bus stops, road signs were installed, and horizontal road markings were applied, after which the road, meeting modern standards, was handed over for public use. The reconstruction of this section of the Alyat-Astara-Iran highway will ensure comfortable travel and facilitate the transportation of goods and passengers.
