President of Turkmenistan departs for official visit to Japan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has departed for an official visit to Japan, according to the TDH news agency. The head of state was seen off by government officials at the capital's international airport. During the visit, President Berdimuhamedov will take part in the official celebrations marking Turkmenistan’s National Day at the World Expo 2025 and is expected to hold high-level meetings, the agency reports. The World Expo 2025 will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The event will be held on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka Bay and is expected to attract over 28 million visitors. Turkmenistan’s National Day at Expo 2025 is scheduled for April 14.
