Automobile assembly plant launched in Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan has opened its first plant for assembling passenger and cargo vehicles. This joint venture with an American automotive company sources car parts produced in Uzbekistan using foreign technology, which are then shipped to the assembly plant in Kyrgyzstan, reports the “MIR 24” correspondent. The plant is divided into two sections: one dedicated to assembling passenger cars, and the other to cargo vehicles. "One of the initial stages of production involves unpacking the components. Small parts arrive in wooden boxes, while larger ones, like engines and mufflers, are delivered in protective packaging," the journalist notes. Along with components, pre-manufactured car bodies are also delivered to the plant. Kyrgyz specialists assemble the vehicles, fill them with necessary fluids, and conduct quality checks. Approximately 50 people are employed here. The vehicle identification number on the body designates each car as being made in Kyrgyzstan, ensuring the vehicles meet international standards. Currently, the plant produces up to 20 vehicles a day, including passenger cars, crossovers, trucks, and mini-trucks. Future plans include establishing local parts production and transitioning to full-cycle vehicle manufacturing.
