Turkmenistan’s Culture Week 2026 to Be Held in Balkan Velayat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a resolution to hold Culture Week 2026 in Balkan Velayat from June 22 to 27, TDH reports. The event aims to promote national culture, enrich Turkmen art and literature with new works, and enhance the professionalism of creative figures. Culture Week is traditionally timed to coincide with the Day of Cultural and Art Workers and the celebration of Magtymguly Pyragy's poetry. According to the resolution, an organizational committee has been established, and its composition approved. The event also seeks to encourage artists and writers to create new works and improve the performance of the media sector. Such cultural weeks are regularly held in various regions of Turkmenistan as part of the state’s policy to support and develop national culture and the arts.
