Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan agreed to intensify energy cooperation
Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan have reached an agreement to expand cooperation in the energy and oil and gas sectors. The relevant decisions were made following the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported. The Turkmen delegation at the negotiations was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyev, the Azerbaijani side was represented by Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov. The parties emphasized the existence of great opportunities for strengthening partnership not only in energy, but also in the chemical industry, transport and communications, agriculture and food industry, as well as in the field of environmental protection. In addition, the negotiators discussed the need for more active participation of private sector representatives from both countries in trade events, exhibitions and forums.
