Turkmenistan adopts amendments to the law on Road Transport
Amendments to the Law "On Road Transport" were approved during the eighth session of the seventh convocation of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan. These changes regulate transport safety and the rights of users of transport services. According to the adopted amendments, state regulation in the field of road transport will be carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the “Türkmenawtoulaglary” Agency under the Transport and Communications Agency, TDH reports. The parliamentary session was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, government agencies, and the media. The draft laws discussed at the session are aimed at supporting Turkmenistan's intensive socio-economic development in line with the political course set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The updated law defines the legal, economic, and organizational framework for the operation of road transport, with particular emphasis on safety, the protection of citizens’ lives and health, and environmental protection. The document also regulates the rights of individuals and legal entities when using transport services. All legislative acts adopted at the session underwent preliminary discussions in the committees of the national Parliament and relevant state institutions.
