BMW unveils iDrive system with projection on the entire windshield

At the international exhibition CES 2025 in Las Vegas, BMW demonstrated the iDrive system, the main feature of which was a full-size projection on the windshield, auto.ru reports. The updated system is based on the BMW Panoramic Vision module – a three-section projection display covering the entire area of the windshield. At the same time, the manufacturer emphasizes that the use of standard glass will allow maintaining the usual cost of its replacement. The interface is divided into three customizable zones: the left side houses the instrument panel, while the center and right areas can be personalized to display a variety of information, including navigation data, weather forecast, and other useful widgets. The new X operating system has expanded personalization capabilities, allowing users to set their own wallpapers. The built-in voice assistant now uses advanced language models, providing natural communication with the driver instead of traditional voice commands.
