A customs terminal will open at the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border

Construction of a customs terminal at the "Dautata" border post in Karakalpakstan is nearing completion, reports a Kazinfrom correspondent. According to the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, the terminal, built on a 6-hectare area, is equipped with modern facilities. Nearby, there are hotels, service stations, and a parking lot that can simultaneously accommodate 350 trucks. The opening of the border post coincides with the completion of the Kungrad-Beineu road. This new road will significantly increase the efficiency of foreign economic operations through "Dautata." Earlier this year, a working group began renovation work at the "Zhibek Zholy — Gishtkuprik" and "Kaplanbek — Navoi" customs posts. The reconstruction of these checkpoints will triple capacity at the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border: The "Kaplanbek" checkpoint is primarily intended for cargo transport but also serves individuals. The modernization of the "Gishtkuprik" checkpoint will allow simultaneous customs inspections of 12 passenger cars and 9 buses. After renovation, the "Zhibek Zholy" checkpoint will have a capacity of 35,000 people per day.
