Turkmen-Mongolian Business Forum Held in Ulaanbaatar
A Turkmen-Mongolian business forum aimed at developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries was held in Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, as part of the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, reports TDH. The event took place in the conference hall of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia with the participation of officials and representatives from government bodies and business circles of both countries. Prior to the meeting, participants viewed an exhibition of Turkmenistan’s decorative and applied arts, as well as a display of Turkmen carpets. Speakers noted that the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Mongolia are experiencing a new stage of development. This was evidenced by the major packages of documents signed during the reciprocal state visits of the presidents of the two countries in October of last year and during the current visit. The forum featured video presentations showcasing the economic and investment potential of both countries, along with information on the investment climate and incentives for foreign investors. Mongolian partners emphasized that Turkmenistan, as one of the rapidly growing economies in Central Asia with rich natural resources, is of great interest to Mongolian business circles. Special attention was given to Turkmenistan’s priorities in industrial and innovative development, and the introduction of advanced technologies in the production sector. Representatives of Mongolian and Turkmen companies from various industries spoke at the forum. Mongolian business representatives expressed their interest in establishing direct business contacts with Turkmen partners. On the sidelines of the event, bilateral meetings were held between representatives of state agencies and private businesses, during which issues related to expanding partnerships and implementing investment projects were discussed. A number of bilateral documents were signed following the forum. Participants expressed confidence that the meeting would give new momentum to Turkmen-Mongolian economic relations and supported the continuation of such events in the future.
