President of Turkmenistan and Itochu Vice President discuss expansion of cooperation
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Hiroyuki Tsubai, Executive Vice President of Japan’s Itochu Corporation and Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation, TDH reports. The Japanese businessman emphasized the strong interest of Japan’s business circles in the Turkmen market, which offers a favorable investment climate and all the necessary conditions for effective cooperation. President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the long-term and strategic nature of Turkmen-Japanese relations, built on the principles of mutual respect and support. He recalled his official visit to Japan in April of this year, during which high-level talks were held and important agreements were reached. Mr. Tsubai noted the significance of the proposals and initiatives voiced by the President of Turkmenistan during his meeting with Japanese business representatives. He added that steps are currently being taken to implement them. The two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the significant contribution of Japanese companies to unlocking the economic potential of both countries. The President of Turkmenistan noted that major Japanese firms have already implemented a number of projects in the country’s gas and chemical industries. At the same time, there are ample opportunities to expand constructive partnerships in new areas.
