Turkmenistan to Hold Military Parade in Honor of 34th Anniversary of Independence

Turkmenistan will hold a military parade to mark the 34th anniversary of its independence, according to the State News Agency TDH. The decision was made by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who instructed the Minister of Defense to organize the celebration. The President chaired a regular meeting of the State Security Council, during which the outcomes of the military and law enforcement agencies’ work for the first half of 2025 were reviewed. Topics discussed included national security, strengthening the material and technical base of the security forces, and improving their operations. Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense, Begench Gundogdyev, reported on the implementation of the Development Program of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and on measures to enhance the country’s defense capabilities. He also provided an update on the spring conscription campaign and efforts to improve service conditions for military personnel. After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of modernizing the Armed Forces in line with Turkmenistan’s defensive Military Doctrine. Special attention was given to preparations for celebrating the 34th anniversary of independence. The head of state instructed the Secretary of the State Security Council and the Minister of Defense to ensure that the military parade is conducted at a high level.
