Sowing of winter wheat has started in Turkmenistan

On September 4, sowing of winter wheat began in the velayats of Turkmenistan. In Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats of the country, farmers have begun an important agricultural campaign aimed at ensuring food abundance, TDH reports. According to tradition, the elders offered a prayer for a bountiful harvest and threw the first wheat seeds into the ground, passing the baton to the machine operators. The country's farmers responsibly prepared the areas for sowing by storing seeds of high-yielding varieties of wheat. On the occasion of the start of wheat sowing in the farms of “Ak üzüm” of the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat and “Batly mülkdar” of the Kizilarvat etrap of the Balkan velayat, in the farms of the “Turkmenistan” of the Boldumsaz etrap of the Dashoguz velayat, “Watan” of the Chardzhe etrap of the Lebap velayat, “Turk” menistan" of Vekilbazarsky etrap of Mary velayat, seminars were held with the participation of representatives of velayat and etrap khyakimliks, leaders of farmer associations, agronomists, machine operators, tenant farmers, and respectable elders. Issues of organizing the sowing campaign, the use of modern methods of agricultural technology and best practices in the cultivation of grain were discussed. An exhibition of agricultural products and modern technology was also organized. On the occasion of the start of the sowing season, song and musical performances took place everywhere.
