China’s Foreign Ministry Thanks Turkmenistan for Assisting in Evacuation of Citizens
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan and several other countries for their assistance in evacuating Chinese citizens from a conflict escalation zone in the Middle East. The Chinese Embassy in Ashgabat reported this, citing a statement by the official spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun. "During the evacuation of Chinese citizens from the escalation zone, countries such as Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Turkey, Iraq, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, and Jordan provided valuable support to China. We extend our sincere appreciation to all of them," said the spokesperson. According to China’s Foreign Ministry, a total of 3,125 Chinese nationals were successfully evacuated through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese embassies and consulates in Iran and other countries, the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Administration, and other agencies. The ministry also stated that all Chinese citizens who had been in Iran and wished to leave have now been relocated to safe areas. The large-scale evacuation from Iran organized by the Chinese government has been completed. Additionally, the Chinese Embassy in Israel assisted in the safe departure of more than 500 Chinese citizens from Israel and provided support for the evacuation of citizens from the UK, India, and Poland. China’s Foreign Ministry emphasized that diplomats from Chinese embassies and consulates in Iran, as well as the embassy in Israel, remain at their posts and will continue to assist Chinese nationals who have chosen to stay in those countries.
