Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Outlines Five Priority Areas for Cooperation with France

National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressed the Turkmen-French Economic Forum in Paris, where he outlined five priority areas for cooperation with the French business community, TDH reports. The forum, organized by the French international business association MEDEF International, brought together executives and representatives of leading French companies, members of the Turkmen delegation, and business community representatives from Turkmenistan. In his speech, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated that his remarks were divided into three sections: the first focused on Turkmenistan's current geopolitical status, the second on its geoeconomic landscape, and the third on the coordination of joint efforts. The National Leader confirmed that Turkmenistan has established a solid legal framework for investors, ensuring the reliability of investments and aligning with internationally recognized legal standards. Berdimuhamedov proposed five specific initiatives for developing cooperation. First, he confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to promote French goods and services in its market, particularly in sectors such as oil and gas, satellite technologies, transport, cadastral systems, water resources, and the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Second, Turkmenistan is interested in leveraging French expertise in urban development, methane emissions monitoring, geological exploration, supply of oil and gas equipment, and in the development of green and hydrogen energy. The third proposal involved exploring opportunities for small and medium-sized French enterprises to establish business in Turkmenistan. The fourth focused on cooperation in the tourism sector, given France’s leading position in global tourism. The fifth initiative emphasized active cooperation in training national specialists across all the aforementioned fields.
