President of Turkmenistan checked readiness for UN conference in Avaza
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the Balkan velayat to check the readiness for holding the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported to the President on the work done to prepare the complex for the international forum. In particular, the improvement of the territory and the creation of comfortable conditions for conference participants, including opportunities for recreation and walks in the park, have been completed, and a service system has been established. The head of state stressed the importance of the upcoming international forum, noting that the decision to hold it in Turkmenistan "clearly demonstrates the consistent expansion of constructive cooperation" and meets the interests of universal well-being and progress. Serdar Berdimuhamedov recalled that strategic partnership with the UN is one of the priorities of the country's foreign policy. The conference is expected to bring together high-level delegations from landlocked developing countries, other UN Member States, representatives of international and regional organizations, legislative bodies, financial institutions and the private sector. The forum will include events of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian nature. The President also visited the Avaza national tourist zone, where the conference's cultural events will take place. Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure that the forum was organized at a high level and returned to Ashgabat after completing his working visit.
